Privacy policy

1. Who we are
RegisterMyCompany.ie ("we", "us") is an online introduction service operated by Nicholas Rooney, a sole trader based in Dublin, Ireland. We are the data controller for personal data collected through this website. Contact: nicholas.rooney2010@gmail.com.
2. What we collect
- Enquiry details you give us: name, phone, email, county, the type of business set-up you need, timeframe, business activity, whether a director is EEA-resident, optional notes, and your optional preferences (accounting help, card payment information).
- Partner applications: firm name, contact name, phone, email, services and counties covered.
- Technical data: your IP address and browser information, used to prevent spam and abuse, and — only if you accept analytics cookies — anonymised usage data via Google Analytics.
Please don't include sensitive information (health, PPS numbers, financial account details) in the free-text fields. Our partners will collect any identification documents they legally need directly from you.
3. Why we use it and our lawful basis
| Purpose | Lawful basis (GDPR Art. 6) |
|---|---|
| Matching you with, and passing your request to, one partner firm | Your consent, given on the form — Art. 6(1)(a) — and steps at your request before a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) |
| Replying to you and following up on your request | Art. 6(1)(b) and our legitimate interest in running the service, Art. 6(1)(f) |
| Sending card payment information, if you ticked that box | Your consent — Art. 6(1)(a) |
| Preventing spam, fraud and abuse | Legitimate interests — Art. 6(1)(f) |
| Analytics (only if you accept cookies) | Your consent — Art. 6(1)(a) |
| Keeping records for tax and accounting (referral fees) | Legal obligation — Art. 6(1)(c) |
4. Who we share it with
- One partner firm — an independent company formation agent, company secretarial firm or accountancy practice covering your county. Once they receive your request they are an independent data controller and their own privacy policy applies to how they use it.
- Card payment information — if (and only if) you tick the card payments box, Nicholas Rooney may contact you with information about card payment and point-of-sale options, including from SumUp, with whom he works as an associate. You can opt out at any time.
- Service providers (processors) who help us run the site: our web host (Hostinger), email delivery (EmailJS, Google), lead record keeping (Google Workspace/Sheets) and, with your consent, Google Analytics. Some of these may process data outside the EEA under Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
- Authorities, where required by law.
We never sell your data or share it with more than one partner for the same request without asking you first.
5. How long we keep it
Enquiry records are kept for up to 24 months after your last contact with us, so we can handle follow-ups, quality checks and referral-fee records, and then deleted. Records needed for tax purposes are kept for six years. Analytics data is retained for 14 months.
6. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict your data, to object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time (without affecting processing already carried out). Email nicholas.rooney2010@gmail.com with "Data request" in the subject and we'll respond within one month. If you've already been introduced to a partner, we'll tell you who they are so you can contact them too.
You can complain to the Data Protection Commission, 21 Fitzwilliam Square South, Dublin 2, D02 RD28 — dataprotection.ie.
7. Security
Forms are submitted over HTTPS. Lead records are stored in access-restricted systems and are only available to the operator. No method of transmission is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.
8. Children
This service is for adults (18+) setting up businesses. We don't knowingly collect data from children.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. The "last updated" date above shows the latest version.
